From Humble Beginnings to Industry Leadership

Founded in 1983, Olympic Plastic Bags Ltd. began with a simple goal — to manufacture reliable plastic bags for everyday use. What started as a small operation focused on garbage bags has grown into a trusted manufacturer of a wide range of polyethylene packaging solutions.
Through decades of innovation, strategic investments, and a commitment to quality, Olympic Plastic has expanded its capabilities, modernized its operations, and strengthened its position within the packaging industry across Canada and the United States.

1983

Olympic Plastic Bags Ltd. was established on April 14, beginning production with a focus on manufacturing garbage bags.

1980s

Operations continued to grow steadily while maintaining a strong focus on quality manufacturing.

Early 1990s

The company successfully navigated the economic recession and implemented strategic improvements to strengthen its competitive position.

Mid-1990s

A new single fold-bag machine was introduced, enabling the production of individually folded bags and expanding product capabilities.

1998

Olympic Plastic expanded its product lines and entered new markets, broadening its reach within the packaging industry.

2002

The company vertically integrated its operations by beginning in-house film production.

2004

Olympic Plastic moved into a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to support growing demand and modern production.

2006

A printing press was added, allowing the company to offer printed film solutions and further expand its packaging capabilities.
